LAU Mobile Clinic Expands Relief Missions for Displaced Communities
Amid ongoing conflict and displacement, LAU’s mobile medical teams deliver essential care to families sheltering in Beirut, reinforcing the role of collective action in times of crisis.
As the war continues to displace families across Lebanon, the LAU Mobile Clinic has launched Emergency Relief for Lebanon (II)—the latest phase of its relief mission originally carried out during the 2024 conflict.
This new series of field deployments delivers essential healthcare services to individuals sheltering in schools across Beirut, reflecting a coordinated effort to mobilize medical expertise and community partnerships in response to urgent humanitarian needs.

The series’ first mission took place on March 12, 2026, at Al Nejmeh Club, Beirut, where multidisciplinary medical teams provided consultations, screenings and basic medical support within the shelter environment.
Follow-up visits have since been conducted at Iman School, Omar Farroukh School, Furn El Chebbak School, Jamil Rawas School and Oula Public School in Beirut, as the outreach effort continues to expand. Across all visits, 547 medical consultations have been provided to date.
Additional missions are scheduled throughout the remainder of the month at shelters designated by the Ministry of Public Health, extending the clinic’s reach to several schools across Beirut, where displaced families continue to seek refuge.
The missions are carried out in collaboration with the Beirut Association for Social Development–Health Sector, a long-standing partner that also worked alongside LAU Health during the 2024 war. Together, the two institutions are working to respond quickly to the evolving humanitarian situation and provide frontline healthcare services where they are most needed.

During each mission, mobile clinic teams, comprising physicians, residents, pharmacists, nurses and staff, provide a comprehensive range of services, including general medical examinations, family medicine consultations, obstetrics and gynecology care, pediatric consultations, nutrition and nursing assessments. The teams also offer psychological and psychosocial support, chronic disease screening and follow-up, prescription review and medication dispensing and nutritional counseling.
Operational support includes patient registration, triage, clinical documentation and referrals to specialized care when needed, ensuring that each case is properly assessed and followed up.
With each mission, the LAU Mobile Clinic seeks to alleviate hardship through action and with compassion. By bringing care directly to those who need it most, its teams not only address urgent health needs but also hope to restore a sense of dignity and reassurance to displaced families.
