Leila Al Saleeeby Dagher.

Our esteemed member of the LAU Board of Trustees, Mrs. Mona Nehmé, founder and president of the Friends of Eucharist and president of the International Francophone Trade Lebanese Antenna pays a moving tribute to her dear friend, the late Leila Al Saleeby Dagher.

“Please pray for me dear Mona.”

This cry from the heart that shocked me, shook me, and saddened me deeply when I heard your little voice calling me for help. But the Lord has allowed you to leave us quickly to tear you away from the suffering of this cruel disease.

My lifelong friend, you will remain so forever. My little secrets and your advice will continue to light my path. Your comforting and reassuring smile in the face of the problems we faced was always the beautiful solution.

Reserved, respectful of everyone, never having thought badly or reacted badly and who always adopted the positive side.

My great Lady, you were full of vigor and energy, ready for service, for the fulfillment of a duty, for the realization of a project, without ever complaining or betraying fatigue.

LAU’s interests took precedence over your private life, “Mona, we must succeed. I promise I’ll do my best.” The work for you was a dance, a ballet on tiptoe. Your life was a beautiful painting, a feast for the eyes and contagious in its contents.

Truth, transparency and above all perseverance, the joy of collaborating, of success were your trademarks.

Leila, your cry still rings in my ears and your smile will forever lighten the flame of our friendship in my heart.

You’re a great loss to our LAU family, but I’m sure you’ll be watching over our journey carefully. Our deepest condolences to Dr. Michel Mawad, President of LAU, to Mr. Philip Stoltzfus, our chairman of the board and all honorable members, to our entire great family, and especially to dear Dr. Joe Jabbra.

Let us unite to pray that her soul may rest in peace.
