LAU cheerleaders and alumnae Aya Charaf (BA ’20), Lourdes Antoury (BFA ’20) and Nehmat Abdelkhalek (BS ’22) are part of the Lebanese Mayyas Dance Crew that wowed the judges and audience at America’s Got Talent on June 21. Their mesmerizing performance got a standing ovation and the Golden Buzzer – straight to the finals. The troupe’s message on the limitless capabilities of Arab women, “the art they can create and the fights they can fight,” was heard loud and clear.
