LAU has screened Beirut: The Aftermath, a documentary by Lebanese artist and filmmaker Fadia Ahmad chronicling the damage caused by the horrific explosion in the Port of Beirut on August 4, 2020. Brimming with testimonials from those affected, the film is particularly aimed at “incentivizing the youth to bring about change,” said Ahmad, in the hope that they will seize this second chance at survival. Ahmad also showcased her innovative and poignant art at LAU in her photography exhibition 50 Shades of Blue.
