Alum Simon Doueihy En Route to the Olympics

By Raissa Batakji

LAU swimmer Simon Doueihy (BS ’24) has qualified for the 2024 Olympics by achieving the highest World Aquatics Points in Lebanon in the 100m freestyle, clocking in at 49.69 seconds. Last year, he broke 11 national records and represented Lebanon at international championships, after a two-year hiatus during the pandemic that he ended by joining the LAU varsity swimming team in 2022. Ever proud of Doueihy’s and Laetitia Aoun’s outstanding talent, LAU will be cheering them on next month.
