LAU Achieves Historic Rankings in the Arab World

Despite the ongoing crises in Lebanon, LAU ties in 5th place in the Arab world in Times Higher Education 2025 World University Rankings.

On October 9, the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025 placed LAU in the 251–300 bracket globally, a first for any Lebanese university. The ranking also secured LAU a tie for 5th place among universities in the Arab world. This achievement is particularly noteworthy given the challenging circumstances that Lebanon, its citizens, and its institutions currently face.

These international rankings underscore LAU’s commitment to academic excellence and research, especially in the face of adversity. Notably, LAU excels in research quality, boasting a score of 91.4 in the THE research quality indicator. Its research environment score of 30.5 is also noteworthy, demonstrating the university’s dedication to fostering a thriving research culture.
