LAU Associate Professor of Journalism and Media Studies Jad Melki received the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Researchers – the second such award for LAU – for his work on the impact of social media in the Arab world. Among his recent publications are Media Uses and Trust during the protests and Mitigating Infodemics: Media Uses in Lebanon During the Coronavirus Pandemic.
