Jawdat Haydar’s Unique School of Thought

In the second event this year honoring Lebanese poet Jawdat Haydar, the School of Arts and Sciences in collaboration with the Friends of Jawdat Haydar hosted a talk by Dr. Ramzi Salti, a lecturer in Arabic Studies at Stanford University. Dr. Salti spoke about the poet’s unique school of thought, his work that straddled two cultures, and his progressive views of women and his proclamation of gender quality. The lecture was followed by a visit to the Jawdat R. Haydar Memorial Study Room.
