Award-Winning Author Hemley Boum at LAU
On October 22, the LAU School of Arts and Sciences hosted Cameroonian-French writer Hemley Boum as part of the “Beirut Books 2025” festival, organized by the French Institute in Lebanon with the International Organization of La Francophonie and the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie. Boum discussed her award-winning novel The Hunter’s Dream, which explores themes of exile, memory, and dual identities, reflecting her own move from Douala to Paris. The session was moderated by journalist Nanette Ziade and featured an engaging Q&A with the audience.
