On July 30-31, 2025, LAU hosted the Sustainable and Smart Cities and Traditional Arab Construction Technology Between Science and Learning workshop, organized by ALECSO and UNESCO Beirut, during which academics, students, and professionals explored how traditional Arab architecture can support modern sustainability goals. The discussions stressed the role of education, digital innovation and community engagement in building smart, environmentally responsible cities, while empowering youth to take part in shaping more sustainable, urban futures.
