LAU Charts a Path for Strengthening the Ties with the Ministry of Public Health
A university delegation discusses potential collaborations with the director general, including public health initiatives, policymaking, and academic and professional partnerships.
LAU has initiated discussions for a strategic partnership with the newly appointed Director General of the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and LAU alumnus Weam Abou Hamdan (BS ’10; EMBA ’22).
The university delegation included Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences Haidar Harmanani, Dean of the Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine Sola Aoun Bahous, Dean of the School of Pharmacy Naser Alsharif, Dean of the Alice Ramez Chagoury School of Nursing Costantine Daher, and Director of Academic Compliance Hussein Hassan.
The introductory meeting marked the beginning of a joint roadmap aimed at strengthening the ties between LAU and the MoPH in support of the national public health agenda. Priority areas include advancing public health initiatives, deepening academic and professional collaborations, and contributing to evidence-based health policies and programs.
