By Sara Makarem

LAU alumnus Abdulrahman Merkbawi (BS ’06) has been elected President of the Lebanese Order of Pharmacists, succeeding fellow LAU graduate Joe Salloum (BS ’03). Previously serving as the syndicate’s vice president, Merkbawi brings continuity and leadership experience to the role. Joining him on the new council are four more LAU alumni: Elsie Nassar (BS ’03), Christian Khoury (BS ’10), Simona Sabat (BS ’01) and Fadi Hodeib (BS ’98; PharmD ’99), reflecting the university’s ongoing impact on Lebanon’s pharmacy profession.
