Seeking Closure

By Dana K. Haffar

A closing ceremony for the Write to Remember project, launched on the first anniversary of the Beirut Port blast to help participants heal through self-expression, was held earlier this month at the US Embassy in Beirut, in the presence of Ambassador Dorothy C. Shea. The project, now documented in a dedicated website, was made possible thanks to a $10,000 grant from the US Embassy, which English faculty members Paula Habre and Hala Daouk had secured based on a proposal submitted with their Haigazian University colleagues.
